wow. what a great question. heres my answer.. in no order. and this is just how i see it .. right this second ya know

1- V.

lives in a world where no one is one the same level of commitement to the cause of Anarchy, but more importantly no one else has the strength or courage to fight for what is right and what their country deserves.

2-Sandman/Wesley Dodds.

Here’s a REAL person. well he is but I like films and books that show the sometimes awkwardness of folks or situations and he really is a man of integrity and true grit, but sometimes he has to duck out and serve his purpose in the shadows, but not like Batman. Bruce is a playboy by day.. he’s practically ALWAYS in the limelight, the attention whore if i could be so bold. but Dodds is mysterious and only trying to tie up the lose ends.

3-Question Vic Sage

He’s a reporter, news anchor guy who during his 9-5 has to uncover stories. Not all the times are his stories reportable, either you can’t defame or list a source or who knows. but as The Question with a little silly puddy and smoke magic smoke that changes the color of his hair and clothes he’ll kick your ass to find out what he wants to know.

4- Guy Gardner

Now I know he ain’t the coolest. And he had his terribly awkward periods. (blame the writers and creators.. he didnt dress draw himself) But he had a terrible childhood. Living in the shadow of a successful older brother, I know what its like. I never lived up to a damn thing my brother did, and Guy never got that “you did what you could. you did us proud” pat on the head of encouragement from his father.. he got a rap on the head. and it makes him a tougher person. no one ever sees that when they read his speech bubbles on the page, but i do. 

not to mention he saves the entire GL CORPS during the original Crisis on Infinite Earths

5- Miracleman. 

read Alan Moore’s Miracleman #1 and tell me there isn’t something special in that. He’s like Dr Jekyll n Mr Hyde.. and his wife can orgasm and be sexually excited by Mr Hyde.. but when her husband turns back into himself.. the excitements gone.. it’s almost like she cheated on him, with himself.. and he’ll never be BETTER than his other self. can’t you see the quandary and depth in that!??

and i after watchmen i always associated certain lyrics from any random song to comic book stories like he does in each chapter.. and on Elvis Costello’s (who Moore quotes from E.C.’s song the Comedians in Watchmen) first album there is a song titled Miracleman and the chorus goes like this ..

Why do you have to say that there’s always someone
who can do it better than I can?
But don’t you think that I know that walking on the water
won’t make me a miracle man?

— i could go on but there are some characters who are cool and i always enjoy seeing.. like Animalman, Jonah Hex, Deadman or Phantom Stranger.. but i really enjoy the stories about people more like Booster Gold and Captain Atom.. they’ve done wrong in their lives.. not all superheroes have spotless records.. but they have something to prove.. something to redeem themselves.. if only to themselves.
